Television SET

TV is such a taken for granted commodity! Isn’t it?

TV is different from other non-living things around us for obvious reasons. Most critical difference being it’s ability to pep-up our (often not so living) spirit. Some call it idiot box but others might say it’s a window through which we can look at the whole world. Tee-wee has made us complete in many ways. Yet it has left me thinking ….that if a picture is worth thousand words then a motion picture is ….? and more….

Should we believe in all that we see on TV screen at least under non-fiction category….?

Which among these are growing at faster rate, TV channels or the number of TV serials/soaps?

Set-top box has improved or has it worsened our entertainment quotient?

HDTV is clearer and sharper but are it’s content worth watching?

Sound quality is better but are sounds (music/action/drama) worth listening?

Knowledge channels are infotainment but in what ratio information and entertainment is mixed?

Watching TV, according to me, is becoming more and more complicated. Pleasure and recreation takes a back seat when present day entertainers take us for a ride!
