Rain Rain Go Away

It has been raining for last two months now. I see some grumpiness growing in people about this excessive rainfall in central India. This is getting like watching repeat show of “Ekta Kapoor” serial for second time in a row!

Bad for crops. Worse for farmers. Disgusting for office goers. Harassing for roadside hawkers and small shop owners. Day after day, like the falling rupee, it is touching new records. Water bodies are overflowing. Vidharbhaites (aka Varadies) are overwhelmed, for they seem to have not witnessed such torrential rains in past few decades.

Flora and fauna also seems to be suffering due to dampness in climate for over two months. Transport system has taken some beating in outskirts of Nagpur. A Kaccha road looks like a Kharcha road to many who commute on two wheelers (students/housewives etc). Diseases (cold/cough/viral infections) are spreading rapidly. The whole bright and sunny feeling has gone for a toss.

Met Dept. predicts that this will continue for another month. Only by end of Sept. things will start getting warmer. Till then, both for rupee dollar exchange rate and rains, sky is the (only) limit
