Pleasures of Small Cities

Smaller cities offer ample of reasons to allure people from metros and other large cities. Those entangled souls seek pleasure of unwinding in smaller cities and towns. They come to smaller cities to get a ‘feel’ of detoxification because ……

Smaller cities are relatively less populated and less polluted. Less traffic….

Pace of life there (or here? …posting this blog from Nasik) is slower. One gets time to reflect upon oneself.

These cities are slightly better when it comes to safety…especially of women and children.

These are less costly specially when it comes to consumables like vegetables, fruits and milk…on other extreme.. also in terms of property prices and rents!

More and more people, in such cities, want less and less. This is hyper generalization but true to some extent. Wants are limited and so are aspirations.

Decibel levels are moderate …on roads there is less of mindless honking from time to time to check whether horns are working. This is truly the most abominable feature on roads of large cities.

Purity of water is usually better…yet another assumption…I guess worth testing!

Fast food does not move very fast here….junk food is yet to catch-up in a big way.

Primary education and schooling is not extraordinary but again considering cost…value for money.

No comments on behavioral aspects of people…friendliness is anyways a rare commodity everywhere.

To cut my long story short …it feels like ‘Home Coming’. Settling here is not on cards yet on every visit I feel I’ve got settled!
