Many spiritual gurus say that one must remain child-like all throughout his age!
‘Childish’ and ‘Child-like’ are close words but they are not exactly same in their meaning.
Childishness is a state of oblivion immature behavior. But being child like is a deliberate effort to break chains of worldly botheration to enjoy present moment like an innocent child.
Former results out of habit of shedding responsibility while later results out of responsible meditative frame of mind.
Let the child within you remain as it is. Consciously, let your innocence prevail.
What do children have that often adults don’t?
Hyper active energy, inquisitive mind, love, caring, trust, hopes and above all, dreams.
As we grow up we start justifying our perceptions that cloud all of the above.
We feel we have ‘mind’ that ‘knows’ what is right and what is wrong. We feel ‘wisdom’ is byproduct of age!
Yes, experience makes us indifferent towards small things that once made us very happy.
But we all have a choice. We can start with a blank page every day. We can ignore or at least pretend to ignore our beliefs and welcome tomorrow with child like openness.
It works wonders. I am not kidding.
