Mind, your business?

Words like Mindfulness, Subconscious Mind, Mind Management, Mind Mapping, Mental Gymnastics, Mental Healing etc etc are bugging me for some time.

Our mind has become someones source of business. Yes, literally. The amount of money these mind management companies and trainers churn, is overwhelmingly huge.

Why not. All of us want peace of mind, sharp memory, splendid attention, concentration, blissful state of mind and more. Just like money attracts money, money also attracts mind and vice versa.

Books written on this subject should be having more pages than brain cells that govern human mind. Audios, Videos, Talks, Workshops, Seminars etc are after us to gain piece of our mind.

Another upcoming marketing tantra is mental mathematics for children. Easy way to allure parents who want to see their child growing up to become the next Einstein. I had my reservations and hence I decided to talk to one such ‘mental’ expert. My experience was mind numbing. All he has been doing for some years, is to ask people do things without the use of calculator or Google.

That’s precisely the need of the hour. Our thinking minus technology = our mind / original thinking. Technology is just an enabler. Not an alternative to what creates it.

Sometimes not enough, accepted. But it is necessary to forego gadgets on certain occasions. Especially on occasions when someone is trying to ‘sell’ you ‘mental fitness’.

If you apply your mind, you will feel like saying – “Mind your business”.
