Memories Of School Days

All of us have fond memories of our school days. That vivid accumulation is personal and unique to each one one of us. But you too, like me, must have cherished still and moving images of –

The first day at primary school….

Uniform, water bottle and compose box…

Sharing of seat in the bus or merrily walking down the road to reach the school gate….

Bench on which you sat….

Your little corner under the table where you kept your bag….

Playground where you soiled your clothes….

Garden where you ate anything offered in the lunch-box in recess….

Water tank/ Parking lot/ Shade where you hanged around for long number of hours….

Teachers whom you adored and whom you feared…

School Principal and his strict demeanor…

The first slap in school either from sir, teacher or friend…

Tattered books and broken pencils…

Homework and drama that surrounded it…

The mischievous drawings and writings on walls…

Proud moment of winning a prize/award…

Picnic where you felt i guess I ‘like’ that girl/guy…

Crying for marks..

Laughing aloud on you own mistakes…

The evening after a class where you kept dreaming of becoming a doctor/engineer/scientist …

The list is infinite. It was a long journey, wasn’t it?

12 to 13 years of schooling …365 multiplied by 12 multiplied by every moment that was filled which unstoppable energy and fun.

I wish we could live all our life like those unforgettable school days…May be we can, if we choose to!
