Kitchen Lollipop – Comedy of Cooking Errors

If you are new to cooking or belong to the first-timers batch (post marriage you have little choice to opt out!) then following adventures are expected in your kitchen (course) work –

Use of all/close to all the variants of spoons available in the kitchen…

Adding too much or too little salt to preparation….

In effort to make your dish more tasty, adding extra oil/butter/ghee to preparations…

Use of large/oversize utensils …

Ending up with quantity of preparation that barely serves one member in the family….

Reference to guidance notes written by wife…holding list of ingredients in one hand and working with the other…

Minimal use of technology….suddenly you start believing in power of your hands….

Continuous time check….after all it’s an exam!

Guessing what the smell/aroma is trying to say….and then convincing yourself that perhaps the work is heading in the right direction…

Forgetting the number of whistles, if you are using whistling pressure cooker!

While cooking alone at home, calling someone (mostly wife) to discuss the procedure…even if everything is going fine…

Getting irritated on ringing of door bell….
Not reading to any of the text messages/alerts on mobile phone until you have tasted the dish…

If there are others who are destined to eat what you have cooked, waiting desperately for their comments/ feedback….

And above all…truly enjoying the whole experience…

If you have never committed any of these errors, please do. Cooking is more than a mechanical job. It is full of adventure and joy, if you decide.
