Age

How old I grew,
I never knew;
The rising sun
took away all the drops of dew.

When days went by,
like a passer-by;
I watched them go
in rain and snow.

From cradle I stood,
in silence and sound;
moving my feet
like a wandering cloud.

The withering body,
the wavering mind;
This slipping sand
in the hands of time.

I looked into the mirror,
it shouted in rage;
Don’t ignore me,
I’m your truth, I’m your age.
